Magnetic mud clarifiers OM (M)

Intended use

Designed for industrial water refinement from insoluble impurities containing magnetic particles (corrosion products of pipelines, equipment), sand, clay, organic matter, scale, received from a natural source or formed as a result of the use of water in the process.

Magnetic mud clarifiers can be used both as a network systems (type OM (M)), and on the individual objects (type OM).

Supplied to the thermal networks and independent boiler-houses, as well as enterprises and industries of national economy, used systems:

  • heat supply;
  • cold and hot water supply;
  • cooling and reserve water supply.

Magnetic mud clarifiers are installed:

  • before heat exchanges, straight-through modular gas boilers;
  • before equipment, armature (pumps, three-way valves, flap valve, water meters, etc.);
  • on in-feed pipelines;
  • on circulation pipelines;
  • after the artesian wells before containers with industrial water.

Principle of operation

Principle of operation

Water enters in the housing by the inlet pipe, changing sharply the rate and direction of water movement.
Velocity is decreased because of increasing of the flow area, and the direction of water movement is changed by partition (or labyrinth).
The large particles are ejected from the flow under the action of inertial forces, and are deposited in the sludge trap under the influence of gravitational forces, striking in the partition (labyrinth).
The magnetic particles are trapped in the magnetic system, and weakly magnetic particles with the residual magnetic moment are concentrated around them.
Small non-magnetic particles non-rejected from the stream are deposited on the filter.

Design features of the separator

Magnetic inertial-gravity-filter-mud clarifier comprises  cylindrical housing with a lid divided by a lattice into  deposition chamber and sludge trap, the inlet and outlet branch pipes, the outlet valve for releasing of excess air. Partitions, magnetic blocks, and strainer are available inside the case.
Amount of magnetic impurities deposited on magnetic blocks increases by 5-10 times as compared to conventional ferrite magnets when using high-permanent magnets Nd-Fe-B.
Suspended and supporting mud clarifiers are available.
